    Job Summary

    Dual Role:

    The Accounting Technician I/Instructional Programs Administrative Assistant is a split assignment to support the Fiscal Services Department and the Adult Career Technical Education unit.

    The Accounting Technician I performs accounting, payroll, and purchasing tasks, and supports organizational fiscal processes such as auditing, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and reconciling.

    The Instructional Programs Administrative Assistant works collaboratively with and provides direct support to the administrator by assisting with the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned specialized projects, programs, and clerical tasks.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, &


    TRAINING:
    1. Completion of High School or the equivalent. 2. Two (2) years of accounting, payroll, and/or purchasing experience in an educational or governmental setting is preferred. 3. Five (5) years of responsible clerical and secretarial support service with increasing responsibility.


    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
    Valid California Class C Driver's License and the ability to maintain insurability status are required. Access to personal and reliable transportation is required.


    North Orange County ROP will review the applications submitted to select those candidates who appear to possess the most extensive and relevant experience or abilities for the position.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The required physical requirements for the position include: walking, talking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, hearing, reaching above the shoulders, the ability to lift at least twenty-five pounds and visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision).

    Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and/or other standard office equipment.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The usual and customary methods of performing the positions typical duties and responsibilities are under minimal temperature variations and generally hazard-free and clean environment.

    The incumbent may occasionally travel to other locations to complete the work assignments.
