Quality Control Technician.

_


Quality Control Technician is responsible to ensure the Global Food Safety Initiative GFSI - BRC, Food Safety Plan, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and to confirm each product meets specification and quality parameters.


Responsibilities

  • Assist line leads in performing preoperational inspections at beginning of shift or production line changeovers to achieve ontime startup and firsttime quality.
  • Determine the acceptability of products using visual inspections, sampling, and testing protocols (when necessary).
  • Perform detailoriented tasks such as checking legible lot codes, "best by" dates, container seals, handling production line rejects, etc.
  • Provide support to the production department to minimize downtime and run efficiently.
  • Maintain orderly paperwork and verify accurate documentation among production, quality, sanitation, maintenance, warehouse, and R&D departments.
  • Organize production and quality records by following established protocol.
  • Verify correct raw materials and packaging are being picked, staged, and used in production.
  • Perform, log, and verify metal detector checks and provide training to production coworkers.
  • Escalate nonconforming product in a timely manner and segregate product or place on hold.
  • Interact with crossfunctional department personnel and adapt to change in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Follow personal safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • 12 years' experience in a quality role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications.
  • Fluency in English is required, Spanish is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and other production systems as needed.
