    Description

    Static Media is seeking an experienced and numbers-savvy data analyst who is interested in online publishing and believes they can apply their skills to support our content strategy team.

    You'll utilize a variety of internal and external reporting tools to source, organize, as well as analyze data in order to provide actionable insights and reporting at scale.

    We are looking for someone who is not only data-driven, but also possesses the ability to connect data with audience desires and needs, understanding that the publishing industry thrives on creativity and human experience.


    Responsibilities:

    Take lead in applying data insights, processes, and strategies within the unique challenges of online publishing to grow our businessGather and interpret data across a wide variety of traffic and revenue sources, then deliver strategic guidance to increase engagement with our existing readership as well as explore new avenues for audience growthHelp us transition our deliverables from being reactive to proactive, identifying unknown opportunities, emerging trends, and overlooked high-performers in our operationCreate custom solutions with technical tools and skillsets to solve challenges in Big Data and Automation across a large portfolio of websitesBuild upon existing internal data tools and work with engineering to develop new views, breakouts, and custom reportsCollaborate with SEO and editorial teams to evolve existing processes using data insights.

    Establish new processes and, by extension, content initiatives within our business to grow our revenueEnsure findings are presented in a clear and digestible format that is easily understood by content specialistsLearn new tools and skills as needed to increase impact on the team and expand responsibilitiesIdeal candidates will have:

    Passion for and proficiency in data, reporting, and business growthStrong verbal and written communication skillsAptitude for combining quantitative and qualitative approaches in analysisA solid understanding of technology and the internetCreativity, self-sufficiency, and eagerness to learnGenuine interest in understanding audience content consumption habitsExperience in a SEO or data-related role or educational backgroundProficiency using Excel to apply statistical analysis and data visualizationComfortable using REST APIs to extract dataExperience with web scraping and Python (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.), or other visualization tools (e.g.
