Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to join our team.
The Hospice Aide will provide essential care and support to patients in their homes, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey.
Duties:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families
- Administer medication as directed by the healthcare team
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Assist with mobility using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices
- Support patients with tube feeding and other specialized care needs
Experience:
- Previous experience in senior care or hospice settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic medical terminology
- Familiarity with patient care systems and electronic health records
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely
- Strong caregiving skills with empathy and patience
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
Job Types:
