Hospice Aide - Dedham, United States - New Bridge on the Charles

Description

The Hospice Aide will provide essential care and support to patients in their homes, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families
• Administer medication as directed by the healthcare team
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
• Assist with mobility using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices
• Support patients with tube feeding and other specialized care needs

• Previous experience in senior care or hospice settings is preferred
• Knowledge of medication administration and basic medical terminology
• Familiarity with patient care systems and electronic health records
• Ability to lift and transfer patients safely
• Strong caregiving skills with empathy and patience
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
