- Position Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director to lead our IT department and drive forward our technological initiatives.
The individual will be hands-on and experienced in managing a multi-cloud infrastructure, localized infrastructure, multi-location spanning many properties across New Mexico, and internal IT at scale and complexity.
The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and aligned with our business goals.
- Oversee all IT systems ensuring maximum support, uptime, and security across a vast array of cloud, localized, antiquated, and diverse systems spanning 15+ properties across New Mexico.
- Develop and implement the company's technology strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and objectives.
- Oversee all IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, and data security.
- Manage and lead a team of IT professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and provide solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology, making recommendations for new tools and systems as appropriate.
- Manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring successful implementation and timely delivery.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring high quality and cost-effective IT solutions.
- Develop and implement the overall technical operations strategy aligned with the company's business objectives
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align technical operations with organizational goals and drive innovation in technology solutions
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of technical professionals, including IT supervisors, system administrators, and support staff
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the technical operations team. Expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) Processes, including incident, problem, change and service level management.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technical infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in conjunction with the cybersecurity team
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in infrastructure management
- Streamline and optimize technical operations processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
- Implement robust monitoring and reporting systems to identify and address operational issues proactively
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks related to technical operations, including cybersecurity threats and data breaches in conjunction with the cybersecurity team
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Manage relationships with key technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of quality products and services
- Evaluate and select new vendors to enhance the organization's technical capabilities
- Develop and manage the technical operations budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Collaborate with finance teams to track and control IT-related expenditures.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, supply chain management, sales and marketing and other support departments, to ensure seamless integration of technical operations with overall business functions
- Oversee the management of the IT infrastructure project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with business goals and delivered on time and within budget.
- Stay at the forefront of technology trends, assessing new technologies and architectural paradigms.
- Recommend and implement innovative technologies to enhance company productivity and competitiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT management, preferably in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems, including networks, servers, and cloud-based technologies, cyber security, and more.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team of IT professionals.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to successfully plan, execute, and deliver IT projects.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards for IT governance and security.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, yet not allowing urgency only to set your priorities.

As the IT Director, you will be a strategic thinker and a proactive problem solver.
You will collaborate closely with our Chief Information Officer to understand business objectives and develop technology plans to support them.
You will also be responsible for managing a team of IT professionals (currently a team of 8), ensuring that they are equipped with the resources and training necessary to succeed and keep all Heritage properties at peak operation efficiency and uptime.
This is a senior leadership position, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing and managing complex IT projects.
Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
