Wellspring United Methodist Church is expanding our family ministry.

We are looking for a part-time leader to direct the existing program and develop additional children's and family ministry offerings to support our ongoing growth.


Summary:

The Children and Family Ministry Director is an essential part of Wellspring's vision of creating a safe and inclusive children's ministry cultivating open-minded, compassionate children who through fun meaningful experiences grow their faith and learn to love God and neighbor well.

The Children and Family Ministry Director will lead by example while developing programming and volunteers to support the growing children's program.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead, plan and coordinate the children's ministry program including sections for Infant2nd grade, 3rd6th grade, and eventually middlehigh school aged children.
  • Craft an engaging curriculum rooted in Biblical teaching. The Children and Family Ministry Director is empowered to choose the curriculum best suited for the needs of students. Curriculum can be procured and adapted or developed by the Children and Family Ministry Director.
  • Attract, train and support volunteers for Sunday morning services and special events. When volunteers are not sufficient to support programming, the Children and Family Ministry Director will personally participate in Sunday morning children's church.
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Pastor, Worship Director, Teaching Team and Wellspring community to provide a consistent worship experience and support congregational growth.
  • Develop and launch multifaceted family ministry programs (such as small groups, special events and support resources.)

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Adaptive, inclusive and supportive educator with a passion for developing children's lifelong love of Christ.
  • Effective communicator with understanding of different learning styles and needs.
  • Formal training in elementary education and/or ministry preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in children's ministry, professional childcare experience a plus.
