The Department of Chemical Process Engineering (CVT) is dedicated to the research and teaching of heat and mass transfer phenomena in technical reactions, electrochemistry, and resource recovery.

Through simulation and experimentation, we gain fundamental insights and are interested in developing sustainable technologies in collaboration with industrial partners.


In this project, we aim to investigate whether the limitations of mass transfer in catalytic reactors can be reduced by an additional temperature-controlled mass flow (TDF) that regulates the temperature distribution, for example within catalytic membranes.

Acetylene hydrogenation will serve as a case study reaction.
