The primary purpose of this position involves all aspects of energy efficiency within the organization. This includes developing the Energy Roadmap leading to Energy Excellence and carbon neutrality at our North American production sites. This will also include implementing Energy Efficiency policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position will report directly to the Director of Operational Excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support in developing and operating our new Energy & Climate Network consisting of energy engineers from our factories.
Cooperate with multiple stakeholders across VELUX Supply organization and factories to analyze energy and production data, define energy efficiency projects and develop energy performance indicators.
Understand corporate Energy requirements and take appropriate actions within the scope of responsibility to ensure these requirements are met.
Develop and set new standards for best in class energy efficient production.
Determine energy training requirements and develops appropriate training for staff and employees where required.
Provides advice and oversight for Energy management in all areas.
Coordinate all energy efficiency investment projects for the company.
Maintain energy regulatory compliance at all facilities.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Implement, develop, and maintain an energy monitoring system for data collection.
Become the Superuser of the energy monitoring system. Support the global implementation by practical training in usage of the systems on sites and within production processes.
Support delivery of energy data for reporting used for internal production benchmarking, external sustainability, and ESG reporting.
Play an active role in hands-on support and training of production equipment designers in energy efficient engineering.
Provides input to develop functional area plans, expense budgets, and investment budgets.
Support with energy assessments, energy efficient design, and business cases for production processes.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
Five years of experience in an energy management related field is preferred.
Applied experience in successfully executing short and long range programs and objectives is preferred.
Previous experience with external regulatory agencies is preferred.
Ability to develop precise reports and present them to senior staff.
Excellent communication skill, both oral and written.
Good time-management, organization and task prioritization abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create detailed action plans.
Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office is required.
Previous knowledge of SAP operating system is preferred.
Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
Project a positive and professional image.
Overall good work, attendance and safety record.
Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
