Dirigo Federal Credit Union is a profitable and fast-growing community credit union headquartered in Lewiston, Maine. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Mortgage Processor in our Auburn Operations Center.

The primary function of the Mortgage Processor is to ensure the timely and accurate processing, closing, and packaging of all member mortgage loans.

Responsible for ensuring that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with the credit union and applicable lending program policies.

Ensure compliance as required by policy and regulation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Produce required mortgage loan disclosures in compliance with Credit Union Policy and State and Federal Regulation.
  • Collect, input, and verify financial and other information into loan originations system to meet conditions stipulated by Underwriter, Policy, and Regulation.
  • Coordinate Title, Appraisal, Flood, Fraud and other verifications, Insurance Coverage, and Loan Closing. Submits all related documentation to Underwriter and Loan Officer for review and approval.
  • Assembles documents for delivery to title company, real estate broker, or lending officer for closing.
  • Calls borrower, real estate broker, and/or title company to request specified and required documents.
  • Disburse loan funds and file loan documents appropriately.
  • Enters and maintains accurate loan information on computer operating system and prepares required reports for management.
  • Develop expertise in mortgage servicing software and ownership of the product at the Credit Union.

  • Strong member service skills.
  • Knowledge of sales and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge and awareness of all credit union products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Be trustworthy while working with sensitive information.
