We are a fast paced growing dental implant center that is looking for a dental implant assistant that has experience working in a similar environment.

It is important that you have surgical and restorative experience with single and full mouth dental implant treatment. Intra-oral scanning experience is also a plus.


Job Description:
Dental Implant Assistant

The Dental Implant Assistant will provide assistance to the clinician at our dental implant center. Duties will include assisting in routine and advanced oral surgery procedures as directed by the clinician.

Additional duties include and are not limited to, patient preparation and positioning; clinical area preparation; oral surgery assisting, the use, maintenance, distribution of surgical equipment, instruments and supplies, and the collection and maintenance of patient data and records.


  • Responsibilities_
Assist clinician with dental care to patients.

Appropriate setup of for surgical procedures.

Assisting with patient monitoring during surgeries.

Assisting in full mouth restorative treatment.

Intra oral scanning of patient.

Assist with dental implant inventory management.

Inform clinician before entrance to operatory of key areas of concern, treatment plans, plus any pertinent information.

Properly assist the clinician during medical emergencies with the proper training.

Discuss post-operative instructions with the patient and be able to answer patient questions.

Discuss post-operative complications with the patients and relay information to clinician.


Adhere to infection control guidelines when preparing for, during, and upon completion of each dental treatment; disinfect and clean dental treatment rooms and contaminated trays; disinfect and sterilize instruments, equipment, and surgical handpieces; handle and dispose of sharps and hazardous materials according to established State, and federal OSHA standards.


Maintain dental supply and material levels within clinic; assist in the inventory process and notify appropriate individual when supplies are needed; receive, store, and distribute supplies and materials.

Maintain surgical equipment; report problems to office manager.

Prepare instruments used in the surgery clinic to be transported and sterilized in sterilization.

Distribute and collect both clean and dirty instruments to and from the operatory.

Assist in inventory of equipment, instruments and supplies used at the dental implant center.

Assist in registration of new patients and management of data in Dentrix.

Perform data entry as required for proper maintenance of patient records and supply and materials inventory.

Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards in the protection of patient personal information.

Individual must possess the knowledge and the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships clinicians and other team members.

Ability to work in different areas as needed.

Complies with HIPAA, FERPA, OSHA, and Laws/Regulations pertaining to the practice of dentistry in Arizona.

  • Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
  • Suture removal and postoperative patient care.
  • Set up the room for patient care; prepare instruments for surgery and give patient instruction prior to and after surgery.
  • Managed patient care, assisted surgeon, supervised clinical team, assisted with administrative tasks for busy, solo oral surgery practice
  • Instrument sterilization, Patient Care, Radiography, Inventory, Scheduling, CPR Certified
  • Process instruments for sterilization, utilizing DANB Infection Control guidelines.
  • Practiced and enforced infection control standards.
  • Served as the radiology technician and trouble shooting for the dental clinic all while following strict infection control protocol.
  • Clean and tidy the surgery and implant standard decontamination procedures for infection control process.
  • Set up and disinfected units after each patient using proper infection control.
  • Chart, expose and process radiographs, inventory control, infection control, excellent customer service.
  • Stock operatories, sterilize, & close for the day Create a hygienic surrounding and practice proper infection control
  • Education/Training_


Graduation from high school or equivalent education; graduation from an CODA accredited dental assistant training program and approximately one year of work experience as a dental assistant in an oral surgery or dental implant center, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Completion of training with certification as an oral and maxillofacial surgery assistant.

Incumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among clinicians and team members.
