The Academic Manager
position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor, Human Learning Systems. The Job Corps program is a federally funded residential training program. Job Corps' mission is to educate and train youth ages 16-24 for successful careers in the nation's fastest-growing industries
.
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for organizing, planning, administering and directing the Academic Education program.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Oversees staff members assigned to this department. Ensures staff members have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
Develops and implements training plan for staff. Provides documented training to staff. Cross-trains department employees.
Coordinates staff meetings. Ensures that all staff participates in Social Skills Training.
Ensures department is compliant with all safety standards and expectations to include proper worker's compensation reporting.
Ensures department is in compliance with all DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements.
Ensures that staff members meet the standards and expectations of the Department of Labor, Corporate and Center policies.
Ensures the Center's Academic program delivers quality services to the students to ensure their growth and development in all Career Success Standards.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field of study and four years of relevant Supervisory and teaching experience.
Master's Degree preferred
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid State Driver's License
