Description

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to assist our chef in food preparation as well as to keep the kitchen clean and operating at its best.

This position is responsible for ensuring a clean kitchen, food preparation and service.

This is a part time Monday-Friday position. No late nights.


Proposed shifts will be approximately:
Monday-Thursday 2pm-8pm, Friday 7am-2pm


Responsibilities:

• Keep the kitchen and all food service areas clean and in compliance with health and safety standards including washing dishes and general cleaning
• Assist with supervising the setup and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
• Set up and stock all stations with all necessary items
• Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in a high quality and in a timely fashion
• Ensure all food is stored to meet strict health and hygiene standards
• Assist Executive chef in cooking and serving all meals
• Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment such as ovens and grills

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or cook
• Basic understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Positive attitude & great communication skills
• Works well under pressure and with a sense of urgency
• California serve safe certificate.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs occasionally and work on your feet for long periods of time.
