Description

The Pennsylvania Pork Producer's Council (PPPC) was established in 1967 and represents all pork producers in PA advocating for their needs and promoting the pork industry.

The Pennsylvania Pork Council is dedicated to advancing research, education, and promotion initiatives to support all pork-producing entities in Pennsylvania.


Responsibilities:

Program Management and Reporting

  • Develop, oversee, and evaluate reporting mechanisms to effectively convey program efficacy to industry stakeholders.
  • Develop programs directly correlated to the PA Pork Strategic Plan
  • Engage in producer and consumerfacing programming efforts
  • Manage requests for materials for community organizations

Ex:
County Fairs, local pork events etc.

Content Development

  • Social Media management
  • Producer and consumerfacing digital and print media development
  • Content calendar development

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience using social media and digital marketing tools in a professional setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Experience using graphic design tools like Canva to create visually appealing content.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Production agriculture experience and/or a degree in Agriculture is preferred
  • A passion for the agricultural industry and a commitment to promoting its interests and objectives.

Other Requirements:


  • This position works remotely, based in Central PA.
  • Flexibility is key, as occasional offhour commitments and travel may be necessary.
  • Attend inperson events, including bimonthly Board Meetings, PA Farm Show, Ag Progress Days, Keystone Pork Expo and other industryrelevant events. Occasional additional travel may occur, less than 20% of overall time. Travel is primarily in the Central PA
  • Harrisburg/Lancaster area
