    SUMMARY

    The System Administrator serves as the primary system administrator for the DPG/WDTC data science support contract. The role requires expertise in EMC, Sharepoint, Citrix, VMWare, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux.



    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    - Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.

    - Must clear a customer background check for facility, equipment, and property access, which mandates U.S. Citizenship.

    IAT II:

    - Minimum one (1) qualifying baseline certification required: GSEC, Security+ Ce, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISSP (or Associate), CISA, GCIH, GCED, or CASP CE.

    - Minimum one (1) qualifying computing environment certification required: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, VMWare Certified Professional, VMWare Certified Advanced Professional, VMWare Certified Implementation Expert, VMWare Certified Design Expert, EMC Certification.



    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Uphold DoDD 8140 and DoD 8570 standards when fulfilling roles. Adhere to the Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) guidelines.

    - Participate in system monitoring setup, installations, upgrades, support, and troubleshooting activities.

    - Maintain a high level of performance in handling change/trouble tickets based on priority levels (Low, Medium, High).

    - Administer backup systems, virtualization, storage, and patch management for network appliances locally and remotely.

    - Analyze and resolve complex software/hardware issues related to networking, infrastructure, and applications.

    - Coordinate hardware and software testing, installations, and upgrades in adherence to current policies.

    - Keep detailed records and diagrams of server configurations and equipment moves.

    - Provide application patching, upgrade management, and technical support to users.

    - Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair servers, workstations, and laptops.

    - Administer storage area networks, Network Attached Storage, and tape back-up systems.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    - High school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or training.


    JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    - Expertise in setting up and maintaining computer networks and associated equipment.

    - Proficient in analyzing, resolving, and documenting network and server issues.

    - Skilled in securing organizational data and infrastructure.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.

    - Proficient in drafting reports and business correspondence.

    - Capable of effectively communicating with various stakeholders.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    - Proficiency in mathematical concepts and their practical applications.


    REASONING ABILITY
    - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret technical instructions effectively.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    - The role involves primarily office-based work and may require lifting up to 25 pounds.

    - Must be capable of sitting, standing, and operating computer tools.

    - Specific vision abilities are necessary for the job.
