Description
As a Senior Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of logistics operations within the organization.
You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and carriers to ensure efficient and timely transportation, distribution, and delivery of goods.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate Transportation:
Arrange and coordinate transportation services, including trucking, shipping, oceanic and air freight, to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers or distribution centers.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet customer demands based on ship schedules and timelines.
Vendor Oversight:
Maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to negotiate rates, resolve issues and ensure compliance with agreements and expectations.
Route Optimization:
Analyze shipping routes and transportation methods to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
Documentation:
Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs documentations, and export/import paperwork, to ensure compliance with regulations and smooth movement of goods.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Collaborate with internal company teams, including warehousing, sales, customer service, procurement, and manufacturing, to coordinate logistics activities and support overall business objectives.
Supervision:
Provide guidance and supervision to junior logistics coordinators or support staff, delegating tasks and providing training as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics coordination, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and international trade requirements.
Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems, such as IQMS, SAP or similar platforms.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external vendors and customers.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
