    A large government contractor based in the Northern, VA area is looking to add a strong Senior Payroll Accountant to their team.

    This role is direct hire and going into the office on a hybrid schedule.


    Position Overview:
    We are seeking a skilled Full Cycle Payroll Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

    This role requires expertise in ADP and Deltek Costpoint software, along with a solid understanding of payroll regulations, especially in the government contracting sector.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Payroll Processing:
    Execute end-to-end payroll processing activities, including but not limited to:

    Gathering, reviewing, and verifying employee timekeeping records.

    Calculating wages, deductions, and adjustments.

    Processing payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

    Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

    ADP and Deltek Costpoint Expertise:
    Utilize ADP and Deltek Costpoint software proficiently to perform payroll functions.

    Maintain system configurations, updates, and enhancements to support payroll operations.

    Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues promptly.


    Compliance and Reporting:
    Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, especially those pertinent to government contracts.

    Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required documentation.

    Generate payroll reports for management review and audit purposes.


    Collaboration and Communication:
    Coordinate closely with HR personnel to ensure accurate employee data management and seamless payroll processing.

    Address employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions courteously and efficiently.

    Communicate payroll-related updates, policies, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.


    Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for streamlining payroll processes and enhancing efficiency.

    Propose and implement improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and overall payroll operations.
