    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years counselor experience required.

    We are currently seeking a dedicated High School Counselor to join our team and help guide our students through their academic and personal challenges for a medical leave coverage from August - December of the school year.The High School Counselor will play a vital role in supporting our students' educational and emotional development. This position involves providing academic guidance, college and career planning, and personal counseling to help students navigate high school and prepare for their future.


    Position Details:

    • 08/15/ /20/2025
    • Full-time / 37.5 hours a week
    • Caseload: 9th - 12th grade students, specific caseload details will be discussed during the interview process


    General Responsibilities:

    • Provide individual counseling to students regarding academic, emotional, and social issues.
    • Assist students in developing academic and career goals, and help plan their courses and activities in line with these goals.
    • Coordinate and deliver classroom guidance lessons on topics such as college readiness, career exploration, and personal development.
    • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to support student achievement and well-being.
    • Facilitate intervention strategies for at-risk students, including referrals to external professionals as necessary.


    Requirements:

    • Masters degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Valid Virginia state license in School Counseling.
    • Strong understanding of the college application process, scholarship and financial aid programs, and career exploration resources.
    • Excellent interpersonal and munication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
