Organization
The Hartford Parking Authority (HPA), a quasi-municipal agency of the City of Hartford, which is overseen by an appointed board of directors, leads the operations and maintenance of Hartford's municipal garage, multiple surface parking lots, public library parking, and all of the on-street parking within the City.
While supporting the needs of a blossoming downtown, the HPA also provides support and outreach to local neighborhoods in order to help resolve resident parking needs.
Position
The Event and Facility Patrol Supervisor oversees the operations under the direction of the Senior Facilities Manager and are responsible for opening and closing HPA facilities, traffic calming at HPA facilities and surface lots, providing assistance to HPA event staff, and patrolling all facilities and surface lots for patron issues, questionable activities, and safety concerns.
This position will require an individual who is capable of working independently and managing a small team as needed for various tasks.
This individual must be able to prioritize their schedule and staff schedules to meet HPA's needs and commitments in a timely and thoughtful manner.
The Patrol Supervisor is required to answer pertinent questions related to the parking facility itself and/or the surrounding area. The Patrol Supervisor works closely with fellow team members to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.Multiple shifts available, including evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- The Patrol Supervisor will lead, direct, and develop team of employees at parking location(s).
- Manage, plan, schedule, train, and direct the activities of Patrol Staff.
- Patrol all HPA parking facilities and surface lots daily.
- Open and close facility access as needed.
- Provide presence at key events and assist with traffic flow.
- Follow all safety standards.
- Answer questions concerning parking/enforcement in a courteous, professional, and effective manner, referring questions to the supervisor when applicable.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Parking industry experience is preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license required with clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Willingness to be flexible.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the Spanish language is a plus

Pay:
$18.77 per hour
