    Description

    The primary role of the Deputy Manager is to enhance the lives of team members and customers by creating chances to positively influence life experiences. You are tasked with overseeing the entire restaurant operation and forming a cohesive team that consistently delivers top-notch food and a welcoming atmosphere.

    Deputy Manager Core Values:

    • Consistently upholds honesty in actions and expectations
    • Guides team members and Shift Leaders to ensure completion of all assigned tasks and provision of safe, quality food in a friendly manner
    • Effectively schedules and allocates the Team, monitors each Team Member's performance, and enforces standards and expectations
    • Guarantees a quality customer experience by promoting quick and friendly service
    • Maintains the point of sale system by reporting all system malfunctions and confirming download accuracy (e.g. pricing updates, menu alterations)
    • Ensures compliance with health and safety standards
    • Follows all local, state, and federal laws and guidelines

    Family & Teamwork:

    • Fosters unity within the team by cultivating cross-functional relationships
    • Addresses Team Member queries and resolves employee concerns promptly
    • Creates a safe working environment for team members and a welcoming atmosphere for customers
    • Adept at handling challenging situations and providing appropriate guidance
    • Motivates and supports the team through attentive listening and effective communication with diverse audiences
    • Represents Border Foods in addressing customer complaints and issues with a genuine approach and a commitment to finding effective solutions
    • Cultivates a culture of appreciation that fosters a positive work environment

    Excellence:

    • Strategically plans short-term and long-term strategies for restaurant success
    • Drives profitability by utilizing and interpreting the P&L to make necessary financial adjustments
    • Sources, hires, and develops exceptional Team Members
    • Facilitates New Hire orientation and devises a training plan for each new hire
    • Minimizes losses through strict adherence to cash handling policies, thorough training of Team Members, and compliance with all accounting/banking requirements
    • Demonstrates effective labor control, inventory management, and waste reduction

    Empowerment:

    • Enhances the competencies of their team
    • Provides learning and development opportunities for all Team Members
    • Offers guidance to Team Members
    • Consistently displays active and timely coaching abilities
    • Facilitates operational development in others through the use of tools

    Required or Preferred Experience:

    • Minimum of three years of restaurant or retail experience, or a combination of experience and education
    • Experience in sales growth, P&L statements, recruitment, and training
    • Proven track record of successful recruitment and retention
    • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays when necessary
    • ServeSafe Certification
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Valid Driver's license and vehicle insurance
    • High school diploma or equivalent

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands of this position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical tasks can be completed with or without reasonable accommodation.
