Position Overview:


The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of Binghamton Jellystone Park's facilities and infrastructure.

This full-time position requires a versatile individual with skills in various maintenance tasks, including minor electrical and plumbing work.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of campground facilities, including cabins, restrooms, recreational areas, and infrastructure.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting, such as replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, etc.
  • Address plumbing issues promptly, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing faucets and toilets.
  • Assist in maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, ensuring proper functionality and guest comfort.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
  • Perform carpentry work, including repairing or replacing damaged structures, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Assist in duties, including honey-dipper service, mowing, trimming, and maintaining the grounds.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, addressing issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to support park operations and special projects.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours, as required.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or campground setting.
  • Proficiency in performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and carpentry work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
