Immigration Attorney Job Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate case and legal strategies.
  • Manage various projects and deadlines.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and revise documents.
  • Explain legal language to clients.
  • Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect immigration.
  • Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
  • Prepare motions, court filings and immigration related forms and be able to prepare clients for asylum interviews and court hearings
  • Attend master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearings.

Immigration Attorney Requirements:


  • JD Degree
  • Licensed in at least one State and in good standing, preferably MD or VA.
  • Have excellent writing skills
  • Spanish required

Compensation and Benefits:

The total compensation for this immigration attorney position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000. Portner & Shure provides an excellent benefits package
