Responsibilities

Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.

Phlebotomy or medical assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization such as ASCP, AMT, or NCA is required.

Completion of a phlebotomy, medical assisting, or equivalent program is required.


Minimum of 4 years of clinical lab experience such as phlebotomy, specimen processing, medical assisting, or combination thereof, or an Associate's degree in related science and 2 years of clinical lab experience.

Must exhibit excellent organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail. Must be comfortable confidently and professionally directing the workflow of a large and diverse team. Prior leadership experience is preferred. Must have computer, medical terminology, and prior experience in clinical laboratory environment. Must have effective oral, written, listening, and coaching skills. Must be flexible to scheduling or workflow changes due to operational needs.


During the selection process you will participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question - Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.
