    Principal Service Solutions is hiring Field Service Engineers who will be responsible for the installations, qualification, repair, and maintenance of Defect Metrology systems at customer sites and is responsible for the necessary transfer of know-how to the customer.

    Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

    Position SummaryField Service Engineers (FSE) are responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs of semiconductor equipment at customer facilities.

    FSEs will maintain the following sub-systems: Electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, optical, lasers, and wafer transfer systems (including robots). Training is provided on a formal or on-the-job (OTJ) basis.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    Two (2) years of related industry experienceWill be required to complete Tool specific training i.e. Level I, II, and III as it pertains to the specific semiconductor tools, and pass the related certifications.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a thorough understanding of Metrology (Defect Metrology or Critical Dimensions) OR RF and Vacuum theory and applicationsDemonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills (including English)Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and OutlookMust be able to work and support a team environment.
    Must be able to work the required shift. In some cases, the business may require additional hours/weekend support based on business demands and project needs.
    Will also require the individual to be punctual and dependable due to the nature of the business.
    Demonstrate the ability to apply technical competency, methods, practices, etc.
    Must be able to read and interpret conversion documentation and installation.
    Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical installation packages.


    Proficiency with the following tools:
    digital multimeters, associated hand tools, levels and jacks, calipers and micrometers, surface plates, etc.
    Must be self-motivated, work independently, and be able to work for extended periods at different customer sites.

    Requires the ability to have excellent project management skills by being able to meet project timelines, keep service activities organized, being able to prioritize tasks, and be flexible with tasks as the customer environment may change or evolve while actively servicing project work.

    Must be able to follow instructions or directions.

    Must be able to travel internationally and domestically up to 80% of the time and with short notice based on business needs.

    Complete assigned formal and OJT with the goal of instrument certificationManage and maintain traveling inventory according to department policy and procedure.

    Protect and maintain company property.
    Pick up and return messages and service calls from customers in a manner meeting service department policies.
    Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received.
    Portray professionalism and pride in appearance while conforming to company policies.
    Provide a positive attitude to all employees and customers. Comply and adhere to company policies.
    Strong work ethicKnowledge and understanding of analog and digital circuitry.
    Knowledge and understanding of mechanical principles.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills with management, co-workers, internal and external customerAbility to effectively communicate information to customers and management regarding service activities and schedules.

    Ability to follow precise instructions.

    Ability to perform service calls (Preventive Maintenance and Repairs) on one or more models of a product line (measured by instrument certification)Knowledge and understanding of physics and chemistry.

    Ability to work from schematics using various test equipment and mathematical calculations specific to electronics.
    Ability to effectively interface with customers and service department personnel.
    Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) in English effectively.


    Experience, Travel, and Other Requirements:


    Experience using digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, and computersExperience reading electrical schematicWillingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

    Must be open to possible travel to Japan for 2 months of training.
    Eligible to be added to customer's insurance.
    Must have and retain a valid driver's license in the resident State.
    Eligible to acquire a passport.


    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to see small objects within a confined area.

    Ability to quickly transport from location to location using various means of transportAbility to transport parts and/or tools from car to equipment site.

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    Ability to lift to 25 pounds frequently.
    Ability to use hand tools.
    Hand-eye coordination at a level to support a range of delicate activities.


    Educational Requirements:


    AS degree in Electronics Engineering (or relevant field) or equivalent combination of education and experience as a minimumA BS degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
