Job Description:
Responsibilities include owning the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment for all data center(s) within a market, leading to mission-critical uptime of 99.999% or higher.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsProvide trusted technical and management guidance to the operations team.
Will develop, implement and administer new program level planning and project management, as well as work to improve existing Programs to support site operations on the approval from the Director Operations Engineering.
Will support the Operations Group with both technical and administrative tasks related to the overall proper operation, maintenance, and training of the facilities nationwide.
Will directly supervise and critique work performance by subcontractors to ensure adherence to standards, schedules and specifications.Will find and correct maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities including management support of vendors and sub-contractors.
Will support and train new hire personnel in the planning, scheduling and completion of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance.Will require the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to navigate common word processing programs.
Operate independently with limited direct managementAct as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and ViaWest staff
Develop site solutions in support of various key infrastructure and business needs.
Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance
Continually drive innovation with a focus on reducing operational costs and mitigating risk in the facility configure monitoring/alerting of facility equipment
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications Must have 10 years of direct, relevant technical experience with Data Center MEP equipment operation, construction and maintenance
5+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
5+ years of experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving
5+ years of experience within a critical infrastructure environment.
Applicable military experience
Applicable trade experience
Preferred QualificationsAdvanced electrical or mechanical certifications (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)
8+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
8+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Walk or Stand for _50__% of the time
Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
Lift __50_ lbs.
Travel _10__% of the time
Base Pay RangeAnnualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be ($122,900 - $158,000). However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate's experience, location, and qualifications.
