Job Description:
The LPN I will provide nursing care and oversight to individuals including taking and charting vital signs, applying and changing medical and surgical dressings, administering medications as prescribed and directed by professional staff, monitoring fluid intake and output and performing basic first aid.
Based on the assignment the LPN I may also assist with the daily care of individuals in the following areas: bathing, grooming, skin care, toileting, enemas, catheterizations, dining, supplemental feedings etc.
The LPN I will initiate emergency medical procedures, administer respiratory treatment, tube feedings and medications, suctioning and provide tracheotomy care, as appropriate.
The LPN I will be responsible for providing information to appropriate parties regarding individuals health care, including updating the individuals' families in such matters as hospitalizations including status updates, advisability of visits and duration of stay.
The LPN I will perform other related duties such as maintaining records and files; retrieving and transporting equipment, supplies, materials, medications, and laboratory specimens; and scheduling and transporting individuals to and from their various appointments.
The LPN I is an integral position in the assurance of maintaining the health and well-being of the individuals supported in the home(s).
