Job Overview:
The HR Payroll Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. May assist with payroll functions, including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with daytoday operations of the HR functions and duties
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintains accurate and uptodate human resource records, filing and documentation.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Partners with VP of HR as a liaison between the organization and external vendors, brokers, and staffing agencies.
- Prepare job postings and assist with recruiting needs.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, payroll, performance evaluations etc.)
- Provides clerical support to the HR department
Ie:
Run reference checks, verification of employment, prepares offer letters, leave of absence, process I-9's, reconciles HR expenses, etc.
- Assist with payroll and benefits functions
Ie:
Enters new hires, process terminations, manual checks, etc.
- Coordinates HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
- Assist VP of HR administering employee recognition activities such as service honors, employee of the year award, attendance awards, birthdays, etc.
- Assist updating the share drive with the most recent HR policies and processes.
- Process biweekly payroll at least once a month and is the payroll/benefits backup when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Typing 45 wpm
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree in related field such as business administration is required.
- 13 years Human Resources experience in a warehousing, logistics or transportation preferred.
- 2 years PAYCOM PAYROLL Experience is a (MUST)
Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
