    Job Description and Duties

    This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

    The Incoming Mail Operations Unit is looking for a positive individual who values customer service and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Office Services Supervisor I (OSS I) must be organized, efficient, and willing to direct Office Assistants who receive, sort, count, process, and deliver mail throughout the department and to other State Agencies using department vehicles. The incumbent is responsible for staff scheduling; vehicle reservations and retrieval; assessing time sensitive workloads; completing a daily workload report; and effectively writing responsive e-mails for customer concerns and complaints. The OSS I will set a good example by practicing and reiterating unit and department policies and procedures; will conduct interviews; arrange employee training; evaluate and review employee performance and probation reports; make periodical quality control inspections of employee work; resolve employee issues verbally and in writing; prepare memorandum letters and documents; and process return to work procedures and Worker Compensation claim kits.

The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.
