BUSINESS UNIT:
TERMINALS


Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers' storage, distribution, blending and logístical needs.

Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products.

We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain and implement company safety policies.
  • Comply with all regulatory and safety compliance task and procedures.
  • Issue work orders to maintenance mechanical employees using MP7i CMMS to meet daily workload needs.
  • This position requires the supervisor to be here at least 1⁄2 hours before shift start and at least 1⁄2 hour after shift ends to review, open/close work orders and schedule work.
  • Lead maintenance mechanical team in daytoday maintenance activity.
  • Ability to issue and explain good instructions.
  • Able to read Pipe & Flow Diagrams, Safe Charts, and Pipe & Instrument Drawings.
  • Must have good oral communication skills.
  • Must have good delegation skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize work base on company policy.
  • Must be able to remove work barrier to achieve a consistent workflow.
  • Ability to direct, coach, support, and delegate as the individual team member may require.
  • Train and proctor Maintenance Mechanics in DOT OQ related task.
  • Set up and maintain Preventative/ Predictive Maintenance work and schedules.
  • Provide contractor oversight as needed.
  • Maintain budgets assign to him/ her as directed by Maintenance Manager.
  • Cover vacation relief for mechanical department.

Position Requirements

Educational Requirement:


A minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience or 2 years experience and an associate degree in a technical field.


Job Requirements:


  • Extensive knowledge of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
  • Possess behavioral characteristics that support team effectiveness.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the following elements:
  • Valves: Gate, Ball, Double Block and Bleed, Check, Slab, Plug, Pressure Relief
  • Pumps: centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm
  • Piping: flow, support, welding, coating
  • Mobile equipment: pickup trucks, mobile cranes, track mobile,
  • Railroad repair
  • Boilers
  • Civil construction
  • Blueprints
  • P&ID's
Computer literacy a must
- experience with Windows based software

  • Must possess experience in supervisory position. Direct managerial responsibility for managing professional staff.

  • May be required to work additional hours in fulfillment of duties and to meet terminal needs.
  • Ability to plan, organize, document, prioritize and complete work efficiently
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis
  • Strong commitment to safety and have active participation in the safety program
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software)
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company requirements.
  • Demonstrate performance and leadership toward SQE & operational excellence

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC:


  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
  • Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required
