IT Help Desk Technician - Freeport, United States - Helm Group
Description
Basic Functions/Responsibilities:
- Handle Tier 1 help desk escalations through internal ticketing system
- Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution
- Create user accounts and configure hardware as part of onboarding process
- Troubleshoot hardware and replace components
- Imaging, configuration, and distribution of client computers
- Malware remediation
- Setup, configure and troubleshoot print servers and local printers
- Perform basic windows administration such as password resets and file and folder administration
- Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms
- Fully document all troubleshooting steps, and create knowledgebase articles of resolutions
- Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
- Set up new VoIP and digital phones
- Basic Internet connection troubleshooting
- Basic troubleshooting of switches
- Job requires the ability to lift, move and relocate equipment, monitors, and peripherals that may weigh up to 50 pounds each
- Perform all other tasks as assigned or required
Qualifications & Experience:

- Ability to work multiple tickets simultaneously and manage time carefully
- Ability to accept directions, follow procedures, and work directly
- Eager to learn, pick up modern technologies, and be proficient in a brief time

- Proficient with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office
- PCbased hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals, Mobile devices (iOS, Android)
- Basic networking knowledge
- Strong customer service, analytical, and problemsolving skills
- Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written to a wide range of endusers
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Organization skills to balance and prioritize work
Pluses
- Microsoft 365 and Active Directory management experience
- Active Directory Group Policy Administration experience
- Manufacturer's certification (MCSE, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+)
