Overview
The Emergency Medical Tech.- BASIC performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The EMT-BASIC also performs the responsibilities of driving emergency vehicles providing due regard for the safety of others while operating the ambulance.
The EMT-BASIC performs patient care activities when attending to the patient in the patient compartment of the ambulance.The EMT-Basic performs Life Support procedures within their scope of practice as approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health EMS Division.
QualificationsRequired:
Graduate of an accredited High School or GED with a license from the Alabama State Department of Public Health as an EMT-BASIC/DRIVER.
