Description

We are looking for an Opto/Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars and electro-optical sensors and instruments.


What you will do is:

  • Responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, and electrooptical sensors and instruments
  • Follow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements to optimize production
  • Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components
  • Test each level of assembly (45 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments (i.e. interferometer, Zygo, etc.)
  • Audit 12 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers
  • Prepare subassembly components
  • Alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
  • Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)
  • Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)

What will you bring to the team is:

  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • AA Degree, Technical Certification or equivalent is a plus
  • The ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
  • The ability use measurement instruments (interferometer, Zygo) preferred
  • Experience entering data numbers into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets templates
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range:
$ per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
