Background Information:
Wyoming Public Schools will launch an alternative education program at the start of the school year.
The program will be designed for students in grades 7-12 and will be housed in a portion of the current Wyoming Junior High School building, located west and adjacent to the new Wyoming Junior High School building.
Three guiding principles help articulate a vision for our program:(1) community-centered, (2) career-focused, and (3) competency-based.
This program is being designed for learners who need a different educational experience for a variety of reasons (attendance, behaviors, academics, life circumstance, etc).

What you need:
- A positive, optimistic, and problemsolving mindset with a relentless belief that all students can learn at high levels
- A proven ability to develop exceptional relationships with students, parents, and peers
- Knowledge and experience in supporting students who are off pace in achieving their academic standards
- Knowledge and experience in differentiated instruction based on student learning styles
- Knowledge and skills in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating individual or small group supports
- Knowledge and skills in collecting, analyzing, and maintaining student data
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students, including knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and fellow teammates
- Ability to engage in selfevaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
Credentials:
- Secondary teaching certification in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies
- Knowledge and experiences in closing achievement gaps are highly preferred
