Project Connection Works Director - WCRHC PROJECT

Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to direct the HRSA RCORP Implementation IV grant. This includes grant responsibilities, as well as the WCRHC Project that is funded by the grant. The WCRHC Project is a harm reduction
- and restorative practices-based direct service program that will be embedded in Groundwork's Collaborative programs.


Principal Responsibilities and Duties:


Grant responsibilities for this position include:

  • attend monthly check-in and TA calls with HRSA;
- convene and facilitate monthly consortium meetings;
- coordinate with Grants Manager to ensure grant compliance and reporting completion;
- provide coordination and facilitation of all HRSA RCORP Implementation IV funding;
- coordinate with the Data Coordinator to ensure quarterly and/or biannual reporting to HRSA is accurate, completed and submitted.


Programmatic responsibilities include:

- design, implement and oversee the WCRHC Project; provide scheduling, supervision and training for the Harm Reduction Coordinator;
- coordinate trainings and continued educational opportunities for consortium and program staff; coordinate intakes, discharges, and referrals for program;
- work towards fostering a team and program culture that balances the needs of participants along the spectrum of substance-use;
- build in mutual-support groups/networks to the program;
- direct all media and communication efforts in partnership with staff;
- assign and monitor program tasks; work together with other team members and Groundworks staff to ensure needs of program participants are being met and connections to identified community resources are made;
- convene and facilitate monthly Participant Board meetings;
- provide education and training to Groundwork's staff to support individuals living with substance use;
- coordinate with Director of Services to facilitate collaborative processes to improve overall system integration;
- advocate for the needs and supports of subpopulations (people experiencing homelessness, and people re-entering the community from incarceration) as well as other populations that historically have been, and currently are being marginalized in accessing healthcare and other basic life necessities' (e.g. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals) within existing and new community resources;

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to successfully perform this job:

  • Extensive knowledge of substance-use and substance-use disorder, including: the spectrum of substance-use; stages of change; peer-to-peer recovery; knowledge of harm reduction tools, resources and skills; knowledge of SUD treatment options and best practices; Medication Assisted Treatment; ability to provide drug and alcohol assessments; knowledge and experience with ASAM's models of best practices; Experience and knowledge of working with people from marginalized communities and identities and where it intersects with SUD. The ability to work with a diverse target audience and the ability to meet individual needs. Knowledge of the Social Determinants of Health. Knowledge of Restorative Justice and best practices. Knowledge of local, state and federal social service, mutual-support and other relevant for-profit and non-profit organizations. Ability to lead a diverse team and create and foster an environment with equal decision making power, meaningful growth and mutuality. Knowledge of and skillset to utilize best practices (IPS, MI, harm reduction, safe injection, fundamentals of drug & alcohol counseling, ect.). Knowledge of Harm Reduction as a philosophy.

Relationships:


This position is supervised by the AMHAS Director of Services and is the direct supervisor for the Harm Reduction Coordinator.

This position also works directly with the HCRS Data Coordinator and the HCRS Grants Manager for grant related requirements.


Qualification Statements
Lived experience with Opioid Use Disorder is a requirement. High School diploma also required. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required if there's significant life experience that's relevant to this position. Certification of at least an AAP required


Working Conditions and Additional Information:

This is an embedded, direct service position located at Groundwork's Collaborative programs. This position does provide flexibility to work from home at a maximum of two days per week, as needed. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required for this position
