ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Yolo County Children's Alliance (YCCA) vision is to protect and empower children by strengthening families throughout Yolo County. We recognize that better futures for our children start by building thriving environments to live, learn, and grow.

YCCA ensures everyone in Yolo County has access to the resources they need to build meaningful ties to their communities and each other.

To accomplish this, YCCA has expanded on our foundational role as the designated Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) of Yolo County.

Today, we serve as an inter-agency coordinator, building networks of support throughout Yolo County to deliver programs funded by numerous community and government grants, as well as individual donations.

Our work focuses on three family-strengthening pillars: Family Support, Parent Education, and Community Collaboration.


ROLE IMPACT


Your impact as the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) Coordinator helps YCCA in meeting the needs of the communities we serve by acting as the key liaison between the Yolo County Child Abuse Prevention Council and YCCA as well as supporting YCCA's Child Abuse Prevention work through coordination efforts with YCCA's child and family services programs.


A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION COUNCIL COORDINATOR**You will work with the Administrative team leadership with daily duties that may include the following

  • Support CAPC and Yolo Family Strengthening Network (YFSN) leadership, committees and members including assistance with meeting logistics, agendas, minutes, and relevant research
  • Conduct research in areas of interest to the CAPC and YFSN as well as develop summaries, reports, documents, and presentations for each as needed
  • Lead special events and activities related to Child Abuse Prevention month in April
  • Maintain current summarylist of Yolo Child and Family Initiatives
  • Create surveys and evaluation tools to evaluate the work of the CAPC, the YFSN and other Child Abuse Prevention activities within Yolo County
  • Create and complete reports on child abuse prevention activities from data collected or as required by program funders
  • Participate in the Innovative Partnerships of the Regional Child Abuse Prevention Council, Resilient Yolo and other committees as required
  • Make presentations on child abuse prevention programs and activities to a variety of audiences such as the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, local, regional and national colleagues, YCCA staff and staff of other communitybased organizations
  • Stay current on information, research, resources, and developments in the field of child abuse prevention and disseminate to relevant internal and external audiences
  • Develop materials and resources in support of Child Abuse Prevention and Family Strengthening
  • Coordinate distribution to and use of Period of PURPLE Crying materials at Yolo county birthing hospitals
  • Must work YCCA sanctioned community events that assist in delivering program services to the communities we serve
  • Perform any other related assigned duties needed to help drive our Vision and fulfill our Mission

JOB LOCATION

CHARACTERISTICS & SKILLS FOR A CANDIDATE TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE

_Must Have Skills/Qualifications_

  • MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ability to work effectively in a secure database
  • Strong data management and reporting skills for quality assurance and for presenting data in reports, memos, charts, graphs, and other appropriate forms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background in prevention services including knowledge of family strengthening, child development, and parentchild attachment
  • Experience providing services to culturally diverse communities/families
  • Ability to travel throughout the county, regionally, and statewide (mileage/travel expenses reimbursed)
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid CA driver's license
  • Periodic evening and weekend availability required

_ Nice to Have Skills_

  • Familiarity with Yolo County is a plus
  • Understanding of or experience with the 5 protective factors
  • Understanding of or experience with trauma informed care
  • Knowledge of maternalinfant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect
