Matrix Providers has civilian, contracted opportunities for
Certified Pharmacy Technicians to provide full-time services at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton located in
Oceanside, CA.

Compensation: $22.35/hr + $4.

41/hr for Health & Welfare:

Schedule:Sunday through Saturday, between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM. Shifts will generally be scheduled for 10- to 12- hours, including an uncompensated 30-minute lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week pay period.

The Pharmacy Technician must have the following qualifications:


  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retailbased program), or a formal medical services training program in the United States Military.
  • Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Experience: One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation

Job Summary:


  • Providing both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services.
  • Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures
  • Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties, including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
  • Perform information consultation duties, including supporting new and refill
prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician's requests, monitoring drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.

  • Perform quality improvement duties, including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
  • Perform supply process duties, including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, and producing notinstock reports.
  • Attend Board, Staff Meetings and produce reports accordingly.
  • Prepare inpatient medications at NH Camp Pendleton, including compounded sterile preparations.
  • Maintain a productivity level comparable to that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
