    Join Our Team as a Retention Specialist at Goodwill!

    The Retention Specialist supervises, instructs, and directs trainees in operating a cash register, organizing shelves, receiving products, merchandising, and providing exceptional customer service while developing interpersonal and social skills.

    This role also involves evaluating trainee performance and behaviors to determine job site suitability, goals, and assisting in securing and maintaining community employment.

    RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:


    Implements strategies to achieve organizational goals and provides instruction to participants in the retail training program. Upholds policies, procedures, and programs. Typically involved in projects and tasks spanning months.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

    • Project and Change Management: Plans and manages work effectively, completes routine responsibilities and special assignments. Engages in change, communicates with supervisors, adapts to change.
    • Problem Solving: Solves routine problems, identifies root causes, interprets data, resolves issues.
    • Technical Skills: Demonstrates fundamental professional knowledge and skills, works in compliance with procedures.
    • Community Engagement: Acts as a Goodwill ambassador, participates in volunteer opportunities.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Two years of college education or equivalent experience, minimum of 1 year of experience.
    • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
    • Work experience in retail, customer service, or related field.
    • Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities preferred.
    • Experience operating a cash register and handling cash preferred.

    PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:


    Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Moves around to complete tasks. Subject to weather conditions and hazards such as proximity to machinery, moving vehicles, chemicals, and high places. Requires repetitive hand use and vision for job coaching and computer work.
