    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant billing for office and hospital procedures.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical documentation and insurance guidelines, as well as a focus on improving the effectiveness of billing processes.


    Responsibilities:
    Performs daily billing activities to ensure successful processing and payment of claims for multiple external clients.

    Ensures claim information is complete and accurate for charge entry and data enters key demographic information necessary for insurance claim processing.

    Verifies all patient benefits, eligibility, and coverage to ensure accurate billing.
    Audits completeness and accuracy of all claims prior to submission to claims clearinghouse.
    Reports billing changes, billing issues, and process improvement plan accomplishment to Billing Services Supervisor.
    Ensures compliance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
    Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of responsibility.


    Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred1 to 3 years of experience in medical billing, terminology, and documentation is required.
