Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of Crossroads grounds, equipment, and physical plant.

This role requires physical activity approximately 90% of the time, including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

Depending on the task, the ability to lift from 10 to 100 pounds is necessary.

The standard hours for this position are 7:30am to 3:00pm, but flexibility is required for tasks such as snow removal or accommodating vendor deliveries

General Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for staff and studentsEnsure cleanliness of all common areas, including the kitchen, cafeteria, lobby, and break roomsKeep items stocked in classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, and common areasMonitor, clean, and service all restrooms and classroomsAssess facility-related problems and propose potential solutionsMaintain a flexible schedule to perform work after school hours when necessaryAssist the maintenance team with snow removalPerform other duties as requested by the Facilities Manager and Senior ManagementAdhere to the Crossroads Employee Handbook

Main Responsibilities:
Fix and repair general plumbing, woodworking, and electrical problems; assess when professional help is neededRepair holes in walls and paint as neededInstall wall-mounted equipmentDistribute deliveries to the appropriate department or individualRun local errands for the schoolAssist staff with moving furniture, supplies, and materialsAssist staff in setting up for school functionsEnsure the safety of walkways, including the removal of snow and ice during inclement weatherClean the interior of vans and fill gas tanks at the start of each weekSchedule regular maintenance and repairs of the vansUpdate the inventory sheet of regularly used supplies weeklyOrder facility supplies as needed using the facilities management sheetCheck the school building for safety, cleanliness, and maintenance issues at the beginning and end of each shiftReport facilities issues to the Facilities ManagerTake out trash and recycling to appropriate outdoor containers as neededAnticipate facility needs and report them to the Facilities ManagerCoordinate facilities needs with the cleaning vendorClean spills around the school as neededRegularly check thermostats for even heating and coolingSecure the building upon leaving for the dayEducational and

Experiential Requirements:
High school diploma requiredPrior janitorial or custodial experience requiredValid Massachusetts drivers license and clean driving historyKnowledge of electrical, plumbing, and woodworking
