    Full Time position for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) who is looking to advance their management skills as a Rehab Director while still being able to perform treatment at our beautiful retirement community located at Brookdale Paddock Hills in Ocala, FL.


    • This position requires a good understanding of the benefits of PT, OT and ST services
    • Medicare B billing, good time management
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong desire to learn new treatment programs directed at our geriatric clientele.

    What You'll Do as a Leader:

    What You'll Do as a Clinician:

    • Work alongside a great team of therapists in a low-stress environment.
    • Evaluate, treat, and build meaningful relationships with patients.
    • Treat residents one on one, giving each patient individualized attention.
    • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Be innovative in treatment planning and execution.
    • Seek to learn.
    • Identify residents in need of our services.
    • Use the dedicated gym space as well as other private and common areas in the finely-appointed facility.
    • Implement and model a function-based treatment approach.
    • Conduct or participate in educational talks, social activities, and wellness programming.
    • Learn valuable skills in varied clinical focus areas and apply them to your practice.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Interpersonal


    • Effectively uses basic communication skills of listening, questioning, verifying, and explaining.
    • Creates rapport and positive working relationships with key facility personnel and fellow LHS employees that allow for discovering others' needs.
    • Meets with customers regularly to share information and relay Legacy's offerings in the community.
    • Seeks advice from Legacy management to respond appropriately and timely to inquiries for assistance from facility personnel and Legacy employees.
    Fiscal Management


    • Manages site productivity and expenses and makes necessary changes to achieve budgeted goals.
    • Identifies opportunities to generate revenue to meet or exceed the budget.
    • Generates all activity reports as requested.
    • Acts as a resource for ancillary reimbursement information to the facility.
    Clinical Management


    • Treats patients and maintains a caseload that assists the rehab department in meeting budget and productivity goals. Approximately 65-75% of the day.
    • Possesses a thorough understanding of the benefits and scopes of practice of PT, OT, and SLP
    • Assesses patient needs and develops clinical programs appropriate for the facility census.
    • Directs and trains others in clinical service delivery across disciplines.
    • Communicates critical information to facility departments for integrated patient management.
    • Coordinates the rehab department with facility staff to plan and implement therapy programming.
    • Oversees Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure service delivery at the appropriate standard of practice.
    • Participates in clinical outcomes reporting and shares with the customer.
    Operational Management


    • Makes operational decisions in accordance with Legacy policies and procedures.
    • Oversees internal marketing efforts to assist with relationship building and growing therapy caseload.
    • Manages staffing patterns to meet caseload requirements and creates the staff schedule with guidance and input from the Area Director as needed.
    • Oversees patient admission process.
    • Understands Medicare Part B billing.
    • Ensures timely completion and uploading of all documents in coordination with the billing support department and completes end-of-the-month billing tasks.
    • Completes supply purchasing and inventory tasks.
    • Ensures state Practice Act requirements and being followed in the assigned community.
    Human Resources Management


    • Owns a culture of world-class talent
    • Creates and maintains team relationships and open communication with and between rehab staff, facility staff, and LHS corporate personnel.
    • Assists the Area Rehab Director with Interviews and hiring for the site following LHS guidelines and staffing model.
    • Assists the Area Rehab Director with annual employee performance reviews.
    • Ensures all direct reports comply with regulatory initiatives.
    • Accountable for and provides orientation/training for staff
    • Counsels employees with assistance from the Area Rehab Director
    Other


    • Demonstrates professional conduct and ethics in accordance with Legacy policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Clinical background as a COTA/PTA with an appropriate degree in the field.
    • Preferred experience in Long Term Care (LTC), Rehab Agency, home healthcare, or outpatient setting with supervisory or administrative experience.
    • Must have comfort with learning new computer skills.
    • An active Florida license.
