Position


As the Safety Manager at Switch Electric, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and the public.

Your primary responsibilities will involve the development, implementation, and management of safety programs and policies, as well as overseeing safety compliance across all projects and operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development:


  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with management to set safety objectives and establish safety performance metrics.

Safety Training:


  • Plan, develop, and conduct safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure that employees are wellinformed about safety protocols and best practices.
  • Provide resources and materials necessary for training.

Safety Compliance:


  • Monitor and enforce safety compliance across all company projects and activities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and assessments to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Develop corrective action plans and follow through to ensure implementation.

Incident Response:


  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, or safety violations.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Report and follow up on incidents in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Safety Culture:


  • Promote a strong safety culture by fostering a sense of shared responsibility.
  • Encourage employees to report safety concerns and incidents.
  • Recognize and reward individuals and teams for their commitment to safety.

Safety Reporting:


  • Prepare and maintain safety reports, statistics, and records for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure timely submission of required safety documentation and reports.

Emergency Preparedness:


  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and protocols.
  • Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness for emergency situations.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Relevant safety certifications
  • Proven experience in safety management, ideally in the electrical or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Detailoriented, with strong problemsolving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
  • Minimum 23 years of construction safety management experience.
  • Preferred BCSP, IASHEP, OSHA, or NCCER training certification or qualification.
  • Minimum OSHA 30 Certification; preferred additional high risk activity competent person level trainings and/or certifications.

Potential Hazards:


  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Electrical Construction environment.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 140 pounds, less than 25% of the time daily for required tasks.
