Position Summary:


The Commissioning SIMOPS Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate daily (Simultaneous Operations) SIMOPS meetings to discuss work activities, working with the Commissioning Safety Specialist, and others if deemed necessary, to determine hazards and if/type of mitigation(s) to be implemented based on work/task.

Communicate findings, mitigations, information, etc. to all Affected Employees.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review commissioning activities in regard to SIMOPS, display all planned, ongoing and suspended work on a visual board during daily meeting
  • Work with SS and utilize SIMOPS Determination Matrix / Sheet to complete taskbased Risk Assessment, if/when needed
  • A SIMOPS meeting will be conducted daily and shall be documented. These meetings will be convened when Construction activities are under a Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning (PCC) Permit to work (PTW) in the PCC controlled areas, including Brownfield
  • Be aware of all SIMOPS controlled areas
  • Prior to SIMOPS daily meeting, be aware of the type and size of intended activity, location of proposed work in relation to other adjacent activities being performed, the duration of the work activity and the impact of the activity on overall operations
  • Knowledge and navigation of Versify, the Permit to Work electronic platform
  • Knowledge of the Work Management System (WMS)
  • SIMOPS areas are 1 or more areas where a given person or persons work activity is affected by other activities being performed by another person or persons
  • Work in parallel with Work Management System SIMOPS person, Construction Superintendents, etc. on a daily basis to exchange information regarding work activities
