Summary:
In a manufacturing environment, performs moderately difficult to difficult material handling activities. Assists other departments and coworkers as needed.

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties and responsibilities:

  • Puts away raw material and may move finished goods to trailers from production areas.
  • Assists in locating and monitoring new die sets to best utilize storage space.
  • Uses scanner when moving product from location to location.
  • Works with storage and inventory of containers.
  • Drives multiple types of forklifts in a safe manner.
  • Loads and unloads trucks as they arrive.
  • Uses overhead hoists to safely load and unload trucks.
  • Keeps all material neat and orderly in accordance with the Five-Pillars concept.
  • Must be capable of using Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.
  • Provides production with raw material work in progress (including child parts), containers, and dies. Removes scrap, dies and finished goods from Production.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job. The specific minimum competencies required for job performance.

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse/shipping/receiving activities.
  • Functional competency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and effective manner.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
At least one year of recent experience which includes the following skills and abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in material handling.
  • Working knowledge of related safety equipment to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions (forks down, no climbing racks, using walkway doors, etc.).
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and perform material handling activities in a production environment.
  • Must have knowledge of where material is used to coordinate with truck drivers where to dock trailers.
  • Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to anticipate potential bottlenecks in the production process and react to them in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a safe and efficient manner.
