- Enter/update all areas of patient history into electronic charts in the EMR system
- Transcribe patient visits including physician's diagnosis and treatment plan into the EMR system completely and in a timely manner (4 business days)
- Collaborate with the physician regarding proper documentation of E&M visits, procedures and DME dispensing as required by various insurance companies
- Assist the physician with patient care and treatments
- Complete paperwork required for FMLA, disability and/or excuse notes
- Maintain a clean and professional environment
- Previous experience the assisting in the medical field - healthcare clinic setting is preferred
- 1 to 2 years of medical assistance experience is preferred
- 1 year of Podiatry or Orthopedic specialty experience is preferred
- Knowledgeable of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of insurance company clinical policies and local coverage determinations (LCDs)
- Ability to work the same schedule as the physician required
- Previous experience working in an EMR - athenahealth EMR is a plus
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate and professional demeanor with each interaction
- Demonstrated experience as a reliable and dedicated co-worker
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment that relies on the ability to multi-task, yet is still able to balance that energy and drive with sensitivity and compassion
- High school graduate required

About the Medical Scribe
Upperline Health California is seeking a Medical Scribe in the Columbus office.
