Vista Hermosa manufactures the best Nixtamal corn and flour tortillas in New York City and our mission is to provide healthy, nutritious and the most authentic food experience to keep the culinary traditions of Mexico alive with our consumers and customers. Vista Hermosa believes that the tortilla, used for centuries in Mexico, not only holds food together but enhances the flavor so we take great care and pride in producing fresh corn and flour tortillas everyday free of additives & preservatives.


ABOUT THE POSITION


We are looking for experienced high-energy team players in operations to continue driving our fast growth and fast paced organization.

This position requires someone who is passionate about Mexican traditions and delivering products of the highest quality and consistency, while keeping the company 100% compliant with both internal and external certifications, procedures, systems and processes.

This position is perfect for people who thrive in a fast-growing startup environment and are not afraid of rolling up their sleeves, working with the team and getting things done.


Job Responsibilities Include and Are Not Limited To:

  • Some Pre-Op and Post-Op inspections.
  • Monitors production lines to verify codes, labels, check temperature of the oven and walking refrigerator, weights and packaging.
  • Performs
    swabs at changeover.
  • Examines, evaluates, analyses and keeps records of materials and products from receiving through production and shipping.
  • Handles protocols for Holds, rework & compliant ingredients.
  • Prepares daily Production Summaries and scans to file.
  • Test PH, Brix,Color,Moisture and salt daily.
  • Work closely with shipping and production in matters related to quality control.
  • Adheres to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety and food quality fundamentals including traceability, Hazard Analysis and Critical control points (HACCP), plans, allergens.
  • Recording, sorting, classifying and storing information on paper and in computer databases.
  • Recording and reporting deviations and violations of production and company processes and procedures
  • Work under the supervision of the QA Manager.

General Requirements for This Position:


  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Bilingual, fluency in Spanish and English
  • Strong grammar and spelling.
  • Competent keyboard skills.
  • Good communication.
  • An ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Legally eligible to work in the US
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Flexible schedule is highly desired
  • Knowledge of State and city laws and regulations

Pay Rate:
$17-18/hour
