Summary


The Graphic Designer fills a critical and key role in the marketing department and works closely with the Chief of Staff.

They develop and update the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, signage, corporate reports, and other branded products used to increase brand recognition and support for the Memorial.

The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff/Director of Marketing at the Military Women's Memorial (MWM), contributing to the development of diverse marketing and brand materials within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.


Responsibilities include producing a wide array of visual design content for digital platforms, print materials, large-format displays, and exhibit designs, spanning various programs and platforms.

As the Graphic Designer, you will be tasked with generating unique design concepts while adhering to brand standards, ensuring consistency, and enhancing brand recognition and visibility for the Military Women's Memorial through the creation and upkeep of design resources.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing creative products used to communicate with, inform, and inspire the Military Women's Memorial's key audiences.


Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute designs for both digital and print platforms, ensuring MWM brand voice is consistent in interactive and noninteractive public outreach materials.
  • Provide guidance and actively engage in all stages of planning, designing, formatting, developing, editing, and possess a drive for creative excellence ensuring quality control for products designed for public dissemination.
  • Serve as the key communicator and technical advisor to leadership and staff on design principles, technical capabilities, limitations, design resource development, and copyright considerations.
  • In depth knowledge of printing principles, materials, and requirements for collaboration with printers resulting in quality, costeffective assets/materials.
  • Foster strong working relationships with freelance designers, printers, and contractors.
  • Create compelling and effective logos, designs, print and digital media.
  • Remain uptodate on the latest design trends, advancements in print technology, and software innovations to maintain relevance and excellence in design practices.
  • Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape, and market trends.
  • Assist with the execution of marketing activities and brand campaign initiatives through support graphics.
  • Offer creative input on marketing campaigns and find methods to visualize the ideas and concepts discussed.
  • Collaborate with internal team members on design and marketing projects from ideation to execution.
  • Review, proof and edit design content with a critical eye.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to identify new ideas and strategies to drive business objectives.
  • Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity across MWM departments, managing multiple projects concurrently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership, contributing to the overall success and advancement of the organization.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/photocopiers.
