Job Description Summary:
Perform daily operations in testing, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery metrics. Includes facilities, test engineering, and support functions. Impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and execution. The role offers some autonomy but is mainly focused on executing activities within standard procedures and practices.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage an operation, business, unit, or section of a production facility to achieve set targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety. Oversee continuous business improvement based on benchmarks and standards. Supervise production, including managing union employees.
  • Review and troubleshoot hardware and engine test cell issues.
  • Develop a deep understanding of a technical discipline. Utilize previous experience and technical expertise to implement policy/strategy.
  • Understand key business drivers and integrate own team's work with others. Apply judgment and propose solutions with guidance. Solve tasks based on experience and training. Utilize technical skills and analytical thinking to make decisions.
  • Provide guidance to new team members, possess interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and talent development capabilities. Likely an individual contributor at this level.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing.

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience in manufacturing operations or production.
  • Knowledge and experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles.
  • Leadership qualities and prior experience in a Union environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to lead small teams. Capable of influencing others and leading initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, identify and solve problems, and demonstrate analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Dimenson of character: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn. Shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively. Quick learner, strategic work prioritization, committed.
  • Strong leadership abilities: effective communicator, decision-maker, collaborative. Analytical, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.
