GENERAL SUMMARY:


The Quantitative Analyst is a vital part of the Research & Analytics team in helping to ensure that data is used to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.

You will be an important part of the group ensuring that teachers, principals, our home and regional offices, and senior leadership team have actionable, accurate, and accessible tools by which they can answer important questions and forecast needs.

In addition, you will support the continuous improvement of our portfolio of data products, including data dashboards and long-term research projects that support student learning.

Success in this work will require the development of positive, collaborative, cross-functional relationships with the Information Systems, Engineering, Instructional, and various interdisciplinary teams across Aspire.

This position will be based in Oakland, CA.

To minimize the risk of exposure and spread of COVID19, the roles and responsibilities of this position will be conducted remotely until further notice.

Thereafter, Aspire Public Schools will resume its AspireFlex program, a generous work-from-home policy for eligible positions.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Think critically on utilizing and linking data to effectively support datadriven decisionmaking across all levels of the organization
  • Support efforts to improve the efficacy of how data distribution and reporting internally and externally
  • Support data governance efforts by defining key performance indicators and standardizing code
  • Collaborate with Aspire teammates to develop intuitive, compelling, and useful data tools
  • Identify and resolve data capture, storage, and quality issues that prevent teammates from using data effectively
  • Manage content on data dashboards and ensure that key reports are uptodate and meet Aspire design standards
  • Perform database queries (SQL, Python) and program data analysis as requested
  • Field and complete data requests for internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desired knowledge, skills & abilities:_
  • Experience or strong interest in K12 public education, and an understanding of how data is and can be used to drive change in this setting
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate large quantities of data, identify anomalies, and understand the implications
  • Ability to translate data needs or requests into useful deliverables
  • Experience in using SQL and statistical software (e.g. STATA, R, Python) to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, systems, and processes quickly
  • Experience working in a fastpaced environment, managing multiple deliverables, and remaining flexible
  • Excellent organization, time management, and followup skills
  • Affinity towards problem solving and the ability to perform analytical tasks with limited supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with proven track record of building positive relationships and effectively communicating with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Conversant with education practitioners and those in technology/data system roles alike
  • Minimum educational level_
  • Bachelor's Degree with relevant work experience required
  • Master's degree in a field utilizing quantitative research a plus
  • Experience required_
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or similar products
  • Experience with SQL in a MSSQL or similar environment
  • Experience with Python, R, STATA, or other analytical tools
