Job Description

As a project manager, you are in charge of seeing a project through from start to finish. This includes conceptualization, initiation, planning, execution, control, monitoring, and closing out the project while managing risks, timelines, resources, and the scope of the project. You will work with the Project Champion to define the project scope and team members and report on risks, issues, and progress on a regular basis. The project manager's goals are focused on delivering the project on time, within scope, within budget, and to the required quality standard.

Responsibilities include

Project risks and issues are actively managed, communicated, and mitigated, with necessary escalation, throughout the project, manages stakeholders' and the project leadership's expectations.
Documents in-depth project planning in detail (SOW, Risk Mgmt. Log, Status Reports, Schedule, Budget, Process and recovery documentation, etc.)
Creates and updates a thorough project plan that takes into account the project's size and complexity as determined by the Project Champion and the PMO organization.
In charge of overseeing the completion of all project milestones, deliverables, and releases.
Give direction and actively control the project team's resources inside the project's boundaries.
Manages project scope and change management, escalating as needed.
Organizes interdepartmental work groups and team meetings as needed.
Keeps track of team and individual performance in relation to work estimates, and provides assistance as needed to make sure the project stays on budget, time, and scope.
Delivers status updates to the project's management.
When requested, offer "Resource Managers" with a performance feedback loop for each project team member, which can be useful for the process of reviewing an employee's performance and personal development.
Addresses cross-departmental problems at the project level and escalates where necessary
Maintains project training within the allocated spending limit.
Offers team-building activities, cross-training possibilities, and opportunities for skill development that help create a highly effective, flexible, motivated, and creative team by fostering cooperation, respect, team and self focus, openness, and dedication.
Creates preliminary calculations and quotations

Qualifications:

2-5 years project management experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Willing and available to travel periodically.

This position is based out of the SAFELOG Inc. Charleston, South Carolina Branch office located in VentureX at 4900 O'Hear Ave Suite 100, North Charleston, SC The primary account is located in Charleston, South Carolina but the role is subject to travel up to 50% of the time.
