This position is open due to growth and expansion and is located near South Hills. This is an 'in office' position with no hybrid capability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Management or related field from an accredited school or university
5+ years exempt-level experience in human resources management, with a working knowledge of the functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to employment law, compensation, employee benefits, recruitment, organizational planning, HRIS, employee relations, and
training/development
This position will have up to 3 direct reports, must have experience with 'direct reports' motiviating and deminstrating exemplorary leadership skills
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity within a complex, dynamic, and rapidly changing business environment
Proven ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution
Proven ability to prioritize the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft suite of products
Ability to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information
Must have a the whearwithal to physically come into the office daily -
this is not a hybrid or remote role
PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or SCP Certification strongly preferred
Experience managing direct reports
History working in a union environment is a plus
Responsibilities
Responsible for the optimal development and implementation of the Company's HR initiatives to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, particularly in talent management, total rewards, and
culture/organizational
effectiveness
Responsible for actively integrating the business strategy with people management practices
Counsel and coach employees, supervisors, managers, and directors regarding personnel related issues, laws, policies and other core HR functions
Consult with managers and supervisors regarding interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies, programs, procedures and compliance with applicable state/federal statutes and regulations
Maintain in-depth current knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance
Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR processes and initiatives to enhance overall business performance and capabilities
Assist with recruiting and training and development programs
Maintain all HR policies and assist in interpretation while ensuring compliance to all governmental requirements and regulations
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Investigates and resolves Employee Relations issues and complaints
Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company
Salary is somewhat flexible and will be commensurate with experience.
