American Gas Association (AGA) is looking for a technically competent intern to join its Safety, Operations, Engineering, and Security (SOES) team for the summer. The intern for this position will primarily be doing stakeholder engagement of natural gas companies and should expect to learn about natural gas physical and cyber security policy, regulations, and activities. The intern will assist the SOES team by providing logistical support and outreach to AGA members and support staff in data analytics, developing and managing agendas for virtual and in-person meeting, and providing project support, as needed.

AGA professional staff provide mentoring and assistance with professional development skills. Successful participation will be a great addition to the intern's resume.

Responsibilities include the following tasks:

Assist with the execution of AGA security programs and initiatives through data collection, analyses, and information dissemination to AGA's membership (logistical support, stakeholder engagement and membership outreach)
Provide administrative support by assisting with AGA Focus Groups, collecting data to develop metrics, and support and the biennial AGA Natural Gas Exercise (NGX)
Initiate process improvement ideas to enhance the SOES department's internal workflow, file organization, etc.
Planning and coordination of workshops, webinars, and events like AGA's biannual conferences
Support the staff executive and work of AGA Regulatory Action Committee
Maintain the AGA department webpages
Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Applicants should be capable of conducting stakeholder and member engagement and be interested in security policy. Candidate must be a good communicator, able to develop a project plan and assist in moving committee project through to completion. Must have excellent research and communication skills, and experience with Microsoft Office software.
